Who We Are

Our History

No More Empty Pots is a nonprofit organization founded in 2010 in North Omaha that addresses food security, education, and economic opportunity with a systems approach to solutions.

Our Story

The Founding of No More Empty Pots

Four dedicated North Omaha residents, driven by a deep love for their community, envisioned a better future—a future where food could empower, connect, and uplift their neighbors. They lived, worked, and raised their families in North Omaha and wanted to transform the community they called home.

It all began with two food summits where community members gathered to discuss their challenges, hopes, and needs. These meetings laid the foundation for an organization that would not only address food insecurity but also create economic opportunities and nurture local talent. With a shared dream of harnessing the power of local food systems, No More Empty Pots was born.

In 2010, No More Empty Pots officially became a nonprofit, launching its first pilot program—the Community Market Basket—providing greater access to locally sourced food.

One co-founder, Nancy Williams, served as President and CEO until she was succeeded by Talia McGill in 2023.
