With University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Business Administration and the US Composting Council, No More Empty Pots is hosting a workshop on “Managing Organics: From Food Waste to Opportunity” to be held on Thursday, July 31st, 2014 at the University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Business Mammel Hall.
This workshop has as its primary goals the intent to inform the audience of the diverse network of businesses, institutions and public decision-makers that can implement an Organics Management System that is efficient, cooperative and mutually beneficial.
Thank you to UNO College of Business Administration for sponsoring the keynote speaker, Leanne Spaulding, Director of Membership and Communications and Development Officer for the Composting Council Research and Education Foundation (CCREF).
Ms. Spaulding is cofounder and former project manager of BIG!NYC Compost, a non-profit compost program dedicated to building capacity for and participation in organics recycling by New York City residents. Prior to that Leanne spent two years in rural Thailand with the United States Peace Corps, working with a compost manufacturing start-up business in addition to supporting several organic agriculture development projects.
Upon returning to the United States, she deepened her knowledge of organics recycling though New York City Master Composter Certification and the USCC COTC training program. Leanne graduated with a B.A. in Public Policy from the Rockefeller College for Public Affairs and Policy – University at Albany.
Registration capacity is 50 attendees and the cost is $25 per person. The fee covers all workshop materials, continental breakfast, and local foods lunch.
