Workforce Development

Workforce Development

No More Empty Pots seeks to offer workforce development for careers within the food system. By doing so, we are strengthening the local food value chain, supporting sustainable growth and fostering resilience in the community.

Breaking Barriers

Many job seekers in Omaha face obstacles that prevent them from pursuing traditional career paths with high earning potential. Financial constraints, transportation issues, lack of education or training opportunities, and limited access to resources make it difficult for unemployed and underemployed individuals to access better job opportunities.

Launch or Expand Your Culinary Career

The Nebraska Department of Labor recognizes the culinary field as a high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand (H3) workforce area. However, accessing the proper credentials and workforce experience needed to secure these jobs remains a major barrier. That’s why No More Empty Pots offers the Culinary Certificate Program, an eight-week in-person training program so adults in Omaha can get a leg up in their culinary career.
