For weeks, the participants created business plans, researched the target market, completed competitive analysis and practiced speaking about their businesses in preparation for a Pitch Competition where they had the chance to earn seed money for their business. On August 22nd, the FNB Community Leaders Program team visited the Food Hub and engaged with Parris and Christapher as they walked them through their visions of Vitality and New Creations. After much deliberation, Parris and Christapher were awarded $750 and $250, respectively, to launch their businesses. Vitality

Presented by Parris

Vitality produces natural juice without added sugar, dyes, preservatives while using non-biodegradable planet and focusing on reducing food waste. Parris wants to focus on providing an affordable, accessible and fresh product in food deserts that would likely not have alternatives to processed beverages. While the Mantra Mango flavor was presented at the pitch, many other flavors are currently undergoing market testing.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1535312347874{padding-top: 10px !important;}”]Next Steps: Parris plans to take Vitality to the next level by obtaining a B-Corp certification. Vitality will be introduced into the market through pop-up shops, fair trade farms and bundled in CSA’s. Long term, Parris would like to open a brick and mortar location that will feature his product utilizing dispensers, a juice bar, merchandise and packing kits.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”4164″ img_size=”medium” onclick=”link_image” css=”.vc_custom_1535337507514{margin-left: 1px !important;}”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

New Creations

Presented by Christapher

New Creations strives to bring customers affordable baked goods that provide a high-end experience using fresh, quality products. Christapher believes that consumers would make the choice to have fresh made confectionery goods over processed ones if fresh products were more convenient. While the Mocha Coffee Cake was presented at the pitch, his core product line is still under development.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1535652400258{padding-top: 10px !important;}”]Next Steps: Christapher plans to continue to research the climate of the market. After perfecting New Creations’ recipes, his goal is to launch his product into farmers markets and grocery stores. He will utilize a social media strategy to drive traffic to those outlets.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
