In this weeks’ Community Harvest CSA, Big Muddy Urban Farm provided the swiss chard! The farm is a collective of producers from Omaha and dedicates itself to making sustainable agriculture education accessible to all. Programming focuses on providing in-depth education and training to future leaders and gardeners, making local food accessible to more people and neighborhoods. Each year, 5 farmers participate in the Aspiring Farmer Residency which allows them to serve as a service learning resident and gain experience in urban farming, community building, and business training. Big Muddy Urban Farm also hosts exploratory garden tours and workshops and youth gardening opportunities in Omaha.
