Culinary Certificate Program

CULINARY CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

.The No More Empty Pots eight-week Culinary Certificate Program provides on-the-job workforce readiness training and hands-on culinary instruction for individuals who want to sharpen and grow their skills in the food industry.

 

Students will work in commercial kitchens with the No More Empty Pots culinary instructors to practice hands-on scratch cooking for individual and group client projects, events and programs. Programs address food security, volume production, and catering.

COLLEGE CREDIT

The culinary certificate is accepted for credit equivalency at the Metropolitan Community College. See below for more information.

ACCREDITATION

 

The program is accredited by the Nebraska Department of Education.

TUITION GRANT

Applicants are matched with available income-based tuition grants. Submit an application to learn if you qualify, or contact 402-933-3353 or certificate@nmepomaha.org for details.

CERTIFICATION

 

Curriculum includes ServSafe Food Handler Training Certification.

ACCEPTED AS COLLEGE CREDIT

Get a head start on your studies at the Institute for the Culinary Arts! The NMEP Culinary Certificate is accepted for college credit equivalency at Metropolitan Community College [CHRM_1030 Intro to Professional Cooking, 4.5 Credit Hours]. Ask your MCC advisor or Navigator about the Prior Learning Assessment or email enrollmentmanagement@mccneb.edu.

ENROLLMENT PROCESS

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Must be 19 years of age or older at the time of application; legally eligible to work in the U.S.

 

Willing to commit to all program components including eights weeks of part-time work experience and instruction.

Have a strong interest in a culinary career.

ORGANIZATIONS & BUSINESSES

Employers, unemployment agencies, and other service organizations are encouraged to refer participants interested in receiving culinary training and certification.
