Your Generosity is Driving Impact Locally!

Last week, you showed #MadLove for our community! Over 75 neighbors showed up and showed out by sending a gift during the inaugural Do Good Week, replacing Omaha Gives. Thanks to you, $5,390.95 was raised! From the team at No More Empty Pots, thank you for trusting us to be the steward of your gift. Your support is the fuel that impacts more families and individuals through Community Harvest.

Community Harvest drives business for value-aligned local farms, while ensuring our neighbors receive the food they deserve with optimal freshness and nourishment. One of our neighbors impacted is Dijana. Her journey to the midwest from Bosnia hasn’t always been easy, but since joining the Community Harvest community, Dijana says she’s found a sense of belonging and comfort in knowing someone is always looking out for her. With your support, Dijana and her children will continually receive weekly plant-based meals, seasonally available produce, eggs and milk.

More Options, More Local Support & Even Greater Impact — Coming Soon!

Change is coming for Community Harvest! Stay tuned this summer to learn how we are pivoting the program to become self-sustainable and launching open enrollment for membership. You can look forward to more options, more local support and even greater impact!

NMEP has completed 12 community listening sessions with participants, partners and other stakeholders. So far, we’ve heard from our neighbors on topics like the importance of supporting local farms, ideas for new partnerships and helpful critiques of our virtual programming during the pandemic. Once the sessions are complete, we will share our findings including how your feedback will affect and transform our programs moving forward. Thank you to everyone who has participated!

If you haven’t already, we would love to hear from you. Take the survey below or contact kswinarski@nmepomaha.org for updated session times.

We’re searching the community for candidates to become our Production Manager. Our team members exemplify our mission and core values of education, sustainability and stewardship while demonstrating trustworthiness, people-orientedness and the ability to accept challenges, prioritize and problem solve. Help us spread the word!

Do you know someone who would thrive here?

Whether renting commercial kitchen space or receiving business mentorship, food entrepreneurs at NMEP co-create a supportive culture of lifting each other up. Just this month, Carter & Rye welcomed fellow entrepreneur products to their brick and mortar storefront so customers can shop all 3 products at the same location: Ital Vital Living juices, Elevated Aspect custom brew and Carter & Rye hand pies!
