Camille & Brandie

Brandie connected to No More Empty Pots through the Community Market Basket (CMB) program with box distribution at Nelson Mandela Elementary. On pickup day early in the season, Brandie shared that she had a degree in Nutrition Education and wanted to find ways to put her education to work for No More Empty Pots. She completed the volunteer application and expressed an interest in cooking demonstrations for families in the CMB program.

During this time we met Camille, the dynamic owner of Juice4Life, LLC in Bellevue. Camille was looking for good knowledgeable people to help her keep up with demand and expand her business. We made an introduction and shared Brandie’s resume. After an interview, Brandie was hired at Juice4Life!

We saw them recently at a tasting for a new drink for the coffee shop and Brandie shared this with me. “I am so thankful to No More Empty Pots. I didn’t know that a job could feel this good. I have less stress. I have lost weight. I am doing work that I love.”

This is one more demonstration of the power of the programs and the expanded impact of the food hub. It is also why we partner with supporters like you. We help everyday people in our neighborhoods leverage talents and strengths into passionate work. We help dedicated business owners by connecting them with resources, including amazing people.

Help us close the gap of $633,000 and uncover more Brandies in our communities and get them to work! Help us close the gap of $633,000 and build more businesses with hardworking women like Camille. We are so much better working together!

Note: Riannon Bell, school chef at Nelson Mandela Elementary, is a rockstar in making sure her kids and families have access to healthy food, recruiting staff and parents at her school for the program. When you see her, thank her!
