No More Empty Pots was awarded a $10,000 grant from CISCO, a global IT and networking company, to implement programming that focused on STEM activities. The program will introduce Internet of Things and entrepreneurship training modules to youth and young adults (ages 12 to 24) engaging in project based learning and workforce development program activities via the Cisco Networking Academy. Upon completion of the training sessions, participants will develop projects that solve problems in real food and agriculture using connected instruments and devices to provide solutions for local growers and value-added producers. The project will result in transferable STEM skills for the participants and improved processes and practices for farmers and businesses benefiting from their solutions.
Interested in IoT?
The IoT program will be conducted in several two-week sessions from May – August. Requirements are simple:
- Must be between the age of 12-24
- Have an interest in technology
- Can work in a team
