We’re Looking to Rise to the Challenge

Your Gift Makes A Difference - Help Us Meet The Challenge

Derrick loves food but sometimes struggles with having enough to eat at home. With your support, kids like Derrick can eat healthy snacks and learn how to make low-cost nutritious meals from local ingredients. You support entrepreneurs like Carmen. She has skills but needs access to a licensed kitchen and business coaching to grow her start-up food business featuring her family recipes from El Salvador.

The Challenge

In July, Peter Kiewit Foundation awarded a $100,000 operating challenge grant to No More Empty Pots. To receive the full $100,000, No More Empty Pots must raise an additional $200,000 by October 31. Meeting this challenge goal will continue and expand programs and services for Derrick and Carmen. When Derrick has enough food to eat, he performs better in school and eagerly works to do more. When Carmen is successful in her business, she hires more people from her neighborhood providing opportunities for leadership development and economic growth. When you meet the challenge, your gift multiplies in dollars, services, and hope in our community.
