Maria brings to No More Empty Pots over 25 years of diverse financial and business management experience. Currently Maria is Director of Finance & Infrastructure at NorthStar Foundation managing diverse financial and operations functions. Prior to joining NorthStar Foundation, Maria held leadership positions in several nonprofit organizations including the University of Nebraska Omaha Alumni Association and Fontenelle Nature Association, besides over 10 years working in for-profit companies.
She holds a master’s degree in public administration from UNO, and bachelor’s degrees in accounting from UNO and international business from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. Growing-up in a rural community in central Minnesota, Maria learned at a young age the value of growing food from gardens and through 4-H. The healthy eating lessons learned coupled with her passion towards education, are reasons why she’s excited to serve on the board at NMEP.
