Culinary Certificate Program Instructor
Jo Anne Fraire is a Certified Executive Chef. Jo Anne started her culinary journey with her first easy bake oven. In her early twenties, she entered an apprentice chef program with the American Culinary Federation. Chef Fraire is originally from Northwest Indiana. She holds an Associate degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Management with an emphasis in culinary arts and a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management. Jo Anne is an avid gardener, raises laying hens, camping and lives with a 70lb dog named Charlie.
She joins us with over 40 years of experience. Starting as an apprentice Chef, JoAnne has worked for major hotels and restaurants. Upon graduation and after her apprenticeship, she studied in France. Returning to the U.S., she joined the Hyatt Hotels and worked her way up to Banquet Chef in Hilton Head Island. Wanting to open a business, she opened began catering and opened a cafe. Jo Anne sold the cafe and began sharing her knowledge through teaching.
